With that in mind we have looked over some of the tuition programmes available and decided to recommend “Learn and Master Drums” by Dann Sherill. This is part of the Legacy group of instruction DVDs and they already have a reputation of sheer quality. We could of gone for any of the cheaper packages around but the quality and professionalism of this product persuaded us otherwise. This is by no means cheap at $249, in fact it’s the sort of TD20 of the tuition world but you get what you pay for - the best.

The Author

Dann Sherrill is a session drummer/ tutor based in Nashville , Tennessee and has a long pedigree playing with the likes of Stevie Winwood, Percy Sledge, Willie Crespo and a whole host of others. His teaching methods are intuitive and his approach is not just to teach you to play but how to actually master the drums. Consequently the course is highly suitable for a drummer at ANY level.

As a teacher myself , I have to admit that the information here is nothing short of excellent and the $249 cost can easily be justified when you consider the cost of a personal tutor. Wow talk about doing myself out of a job. The play along CDs are fun and will complement all the inbuilt grooves your Ekit may contain.
