I'm doing my Music FSE (Final Summaritive Exam) and one of the questions is "Are there any modern innovations in your instrument?" - In my case, it's drums. So as a modern innovation, I'm going to use the invention of the electronic drum kit. The problem is that I can't really search which one is the first-ever electronic drum kit invented.

Simmons, a British company, made the first “Real” electronic drum sets.
in the late 70’s early 80’s. I remember Bill Bruford of Yes was using them back in the day.

As i see it.. The first electric drum set was names the Pollard Syndrum. I was made by Mark Barton at Tycobrahe Sound Company in Hermosa Beach, California, through the idea of an electric drum by Joe Pollard. He argued that Guitars had effects and pianos had synthesizers. He wanted to bring the drums into the Electronic Era. There were 3 major types: The Syndrum 1, the Syndrum TwinDrum, and the Syndrum Quad. The syndrum quad was the most famous. They were never meant to replace the original drum set, just enhance it. Pretty soon, other companies started to used the Syndrum’s original design to make copy-products of their own.
