Does the RockBand2 ION Drum Kit double as a REAL Electronic Drum Kit?

Basically I want to know if I can take my ION drum kit that was made for RockBand2 on XBOX360, plug it into something like an amplifier, and it will work like a regular electronic drum kit. If yes, what exactly do I need to get to go with it, so it can be an electronic drum kit? Thanks.
Yes, it will work as a real drum kit. you just need to get an electronic drum brain. Instead of plugging all of the pads into the thing that the set comes with, you plug them into the brain.
