TD9 first whack
I had my first crash around on one the other day. It was the cheaper model with rubber pads and the TD3 type mesh head. It sounded very good and the dynamics were excellent, grace notes cross stick etc were faithfully re-created. My Spanish is not up to much but the sales guy was not that knowledgeable anyway so lots of questions still need answering. Personally I would go for the all mesh job with the better cymbal setup and on my next visit to the UK. I’ll investigate further.

Swedish company 2box are going to release a brand new Ekit on the market in August and it looks pretty damn good. They seem to have realised that with all the great drum software around like BFD and Addictive Drums etc pro kits should be able to integrate with these smoothly. All the info is on the site in the whats new section.
I’m looking to get some good first hand knowledge of this so watch this Space and I’m even having second thoughts about the TD9 now

I’m thinking about an Ezine dedicated to Edrums. ElectroDrum.com gets around 25-30k page views a month so the potential is there for advertisers etc. and I haven’t really ‘pushed ‘ the site as yet. The forum on Mike Dolbear’s site seemed to think it would be a good idea. However I reckon I need a partner to ease the burden. I’m a technical editor by trade so to speak so am familiar with the publishing stuff and I would like someone with some inside knowledge and good contacts. Any takers?

I have recently put on an Evans EMAD bass drum head on amy acoustic kit. The boys in the band says it sounds great - just like the cardboard box studio sound. Well I’m lost for words I wonder if Roland and Yamaha have this cardboard box sound in their modules!
